We had a bit of a strange July in that we only had 6 triggers (3 wins, and 3 scratches). We became conservative once the leaders started acting weak and kept most of the picks near the sidelines for the remainder of the month. Of course there were still set-ups for our readers (those we mention in the Forming Lists on our newsletter) but not too many we felt strongly about. In retrospect, the overwhelming majority of the picks in the Forming lists actually worked which means that we in turn were too conservative in our approach and should have been more aggressive, especially on the short side.
The only defense we can offer is that the last two weeks has abounded in (to use an understatement) "distractions" in the personal life of the principal writer of the newsletter, and simply the A game has been sidelined. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks this will be remedied.
To sum it up, not a bad month, just not as active as we would have wanted it.
